How do I ask for ADHD medication with other mental disorders?

hi, I'm 18f and I was diagnosed with ADHD (combined type) when I was 17. When bringing this up to my psychiatrist (who was convinced I didn't have it for some reason) she told me I could not start on any medication because I also had GAD (generalised anxiety disorder), and that a stimulant would worsen it.

I'm looking for a new psychiatrist now because I haven't seen her in a while and don't really want to go back. I've been having a really hard time at my job because of these symptoms, and my functioning level has just been extremely low recently. I have major depression also, which is probably contributing, but I've tried antidepressants and now I want to try something for ADHD.

I don't have a lot of experience with psychiatrists (I've only ever seen the one, and not for very long), so I don't really know how to go about this. It has to be possible I think, because I've known people with anxiety who were taking ADHD medication. Is there something I can tell a psychiatrist or something to convince them I'll be okay?

Also, any general advice on talking to a psychiatrist would help a lot, I get really nervous and can't think of what to say... It doesn't help that I have a really hard time remembering emotions I am not feeling in the present.
