Stay in accounting or jump around?

Contemplating just not taking the CPA because I'm not that big on accounting other than the fact it's a stable job. Nevertheless, I'm aware you max out as an accountant without a CPA. This is where I'm thinking "Why don't I just jump around jobs and not always be an accountant?" But is this a bad idea for someone's who's more risk-averse like me — who wants to maintain stability? Help me out here, cuz this career stuff is still kinda new to me.
