AIO? Doctor’s office won’t fill three day supply before my appointment on Thursday
I’ve taken a medicine for acne for 5 years now, every day. It is the only thing I’ve found that works.
The doctors office that prescribed it requires me to come in once a year to be seen in order for the script to be renewed. I’ve attended each of these appointments before this year with no issues.
This year, I am about to graduate nursing school and also have been dealing with multiple sclerosis health stuff so I lost track of time. Completely my fault here and I get that.
I called the office and asked for a refill and they told me it had been too long since I was last seen and needed to make an appointment. No problem. I scheduled one for Thursday this week. I asked them if they could refill the medicine in the meantime time because I completely ran out. They said no. I explained that I accidentally lost tell of how many refills that I had left and that I understood that this was my fault but again, I was completely out of a medicine I’d been taking daily for 5 years. I asked for a three day supply to hold me over till Thursday’s appointment. They still said no. I ended up going to my pharmacy and they gave it to me with no issue. I didn’t even have to pay anything.
AIO? for feeling like refusing a three day supply is a bit unnecessarily rigid? It was my fault for not being seen in so long but also this is a medicine I’ve been on for a long time with no issues.
