How do you feel about countercades?

I heat finished my RASTAN partycade and I’m planning to do a dragon’s Lair next. I don’t have another party cade, so I planned on just making one. It’s not difficult, but just the mdf, brackets, screws, and extras alone are over $100, and that’s before a monitor, Pi, controls, for the bezel and then the graphics. I’ve priced it out and I’m at $300 already. It’s just not worth it, so I’m thinking Amit countercades. I can do one of those for under $200, but it’s the form factor that bothers me.

Has to be some cool countercade setups out there. I don’t think I’d mind having a shelf on a wall high enough to bring a countercade up to real arcade height.
