Lower Your Expectations
Fans need to realize that we are not in Madrid, Barcelona, Bayern, Juve level to expect trophies (even though we were told that we're going to be when we moved to the emirates).
We are similar to At. Madrid level. A club that can win their league once in awhile and when they win it, it's not a surprise to the general football fans (unlike Leicester title win).
Just look at our times as league champions 5 times in the 1930s (most longest period) After that it's one time only in 40s,50s,70s,80s. Twice in 90s and 2000s
For fa cup, Twice in the 30s, Once in 50s, Twice in 70s, 90s Three in 2000s, 2010s And so far once in 2020s
Averaging 2 trophies per decade (not the numbers you expect from an elite club)
If not for Wenger ball in the first 10 years of his era (1996-2006) including 3 titles and constant CL R16 qualifying, we would have been at Everton level of club statue in terms of worldwide attractions (minor fans outside of England) and I as an international fan won't be interested to pick arsenal.
Our board doesn't run like the elite clubs above "win trophies or get sacked" nor do we have S class transfer budget like city, Chelsea, united. Yes we spent 782M on 31 players in 5 years and the notion "we spend, so we should expect trophies" is understandable and frustrating when there's no trophies to show for. But only 15 players out of 31 were considered to be good. Not to mention that we were literally a mid table club in 2020 & 2021. So the 782M was to get us to top 4 level club and start competing for the title.
This Arteta era phases should be break into 2 years of top 4 finish ✅ (22/23 & 23/24) 3 years of competing for the title and CL Qf (this season and next 2) But some fans expectations got high after the unexpected title race two seasons ago and now they expect a title when was the original goal of that season is to get top 4. So the team was for competing for top 4 spot, not the title.
I'm not Arteta in or out, and as long as the club is competing for the title every season, reaching minimum CL Qf, fa cup Qf. I'll be content since I know that there's always a chance of winning something every season.
The fear part is how long the key players can be patient without winning trophies and them leaving can get us back to 2018-2022 era.
