Is there anywhere I can exchange foreign currency in the city?

Currency exchanges don't really do what their title says they do, it's just a literal exchange of currency where you can cash checks, at least to my knowledge, the places I've called have all said they don't take foreign cash and coins. Does anybody know somewhere I can exchange foreign currency in the city?
