How difficult is studying a PGCE? (secondary teacher training)

I'm considering training for a PGCE in secondary DT. I have a bachelor's in graphic design and a masters degree in design research already.

I've read a lot online about how studying a PGCE can be "hellish" in terms of work load and corresponding stress. But then I see it's only worth 60 credits, whereas my masters degree (1 year) was 180 credits. As far as I know, the amount of credits corresponds to the number of assignments.

Question is, maybe I won't find it so difficult, considering doing a 180 credit masters, while difficult, wasn't the worst thing in the world. Or are the 60 credits compounded by the fact you're doing 18 weeks total of classroom work as well?

Sometimes I don't handle stress well, but it depends on the cause of the stress. So just trying to get some perspective to help me decide whether this training would boil me or not. I know secondary teaching itself can be stressful, but that's a separate question.

Any perspective on this is appreciated!
