Are there any meds that help you keep a job?
Hi, was recently diagnosed with autism at 30, and prior to that I've been diagnosed with depression, anxiety, and CPTSD. Problem is I can't hold a job. My career in software engineering is highly stressful and mentally exhausting with long work hours, office politics, too fast paced, and so many demands and chaos. It's only been 4 years yet I changed jobs 4 times and I keep burning out and quitting and unable to ever recover or not sure if recovery is ever possible. At this point, I lost any little confidence I ever had in my self and whatever skills I've learned throughout the years. I quit my last grueling job last month and I'm currently unemployed and trying to find a way to be able to work again.
Problem is I am unable to. I keep having frequent meltdowns (same thing as when I was working) whenever I force myself to study for interviews or code. I can't picture myself working again whether in this field or anything else and I don't know what to do. I'm super overwhelmed and my brain keeps shutting down. I have severe brain fog, lack of concentration, and unable to learn or think or even talk sometimes.
My question is, for any autistic women who have gone through this or struggled with work, did you take any meds to help you work? I need to earn because I have no support and I also have to support my mother, and there aren't any slow or part-time jobs where I live (not the U.S.) so I have to go back to this career and somehow keep going (tearing up just thinking about my future). I also can't afford therapy and I'll spend a large chunk of my savings to have psychiatrist visits and ask for whatever meds prescription. But I'm not sure if they'd ever work given I'm super sensitive to side effects and no antidepressant or anti anxiety has worked for me before.
I'd appreciate any feedback because I'm very lost and tired and don't know what to do.
