bridgerton s3 "numbers"

When analysing season 3, a thing that comes up most in response to criticism is the numbers it had, it basically becoming a shield in this fandom for s3

Before I start I wont lie, those are impressive numbers and shouldn't be completely disregarded

I'm just annoyed when talking about disappointments of s3, especially part two, this gets brought up, and like yeah obviously it was gonna perform well despite quality? there were literal drone shows in terms of marketing, millions being put into it. Additionally it was coming off the hype of queen charlotte and s2, two great seasons, the same being expected for s3, with a character many already know and like such as Penelope, everyone wanted to see her love story

plus by season 3, there were 20 million more netflix subscribers, and mind you Wednesday has more views than bridgerton, does this suddenly make Wednesday good? hell nah, this is the same for stuff like the kissing booth

Honestly s3 having this much hype and views coming into the season but eventually being mediocre is just depressing, and quantity = quality shouldn't be revered as much as it is in the fandom
