Speaker comparison - Triangle Borea BR03 vs. KEF Q150

I’ve had the KEF Q150 for a while, using them in various places in my house, but mostly as nearfield monitors. I think they really excel here, and I believe the Uni-Q driver works wonders for near field.

I recently bought the Triangle Borea BR03 because I needed some new speakers for my living room. I think they are perfect out there. They seem to have room filling sound, and it has an effortless, airy sound in my living room that the KEF was lacking. They also are up against a wall out there, so the front ported bass helps with bass response.

All the above makes sense though, because one thing to note if you’re comparing these two because they are in a similar price bracket, is that the BR03 is LARGE. Obviously, it has a 6.5” woofer to the 5.25” of the KEF. Here’s some pictures comparing the two. https://imgur.com/gallery/T6TwDWV I know the BR02 is more comparable to the KEFs in size (and some reviews rate them higher than the BR03 - I can’t comment on that), but I found an open box deal for the BR03 for $200 that was too good to pass up. I put them in my office for kicks and giggles, and honestly, they do sound better than the KEFs in here too, but they’ll most likely stay in the living room to maximize their potential.

TL:DR. Both speakers are great. If you can find them for similar prices, I’d go with the Triangles if you have the space, and the KEFs otherwise. They do have different design language, so if one resonates with you more than the other, I don’t think you’d regret picking between the two based on looks.
