Is my cat ok??

My cat is around 7 months. A family member found him when he was a few weeks old, he was left outside and kept him for about 6 months. We got him about a month ago. Recently switched him to wet food because that's the best I can give him for now with my budget based on the stores around me. It's some generic brand. It's not ideal but I'm trying. He was also never taken to get his shots, I'm in the process of looking for a cheap place. That's just a bit of background. Anyway, I've noticed his coat has been looking scruffier the past few days. I thought it mightvw been because of stress. My mom typically wants him to be in my room until hes trained enough not to year the rest of the house up. Anyway, I play with him and he likes to play rough and when I noticed this spot yesterday I thought he might be gotten scratched while playing. I looked again today and there are more red spots and a nick on his ear. I realized he's been scratching his ear so I'm thinking it might be that and it's a scab but he shouldn't be that itchy to the point where he's leaving scabs. I know he's long overdue for a vet visit and being in my room all the time doesn't help and maybe it's his food too? Idk any help would be appreciated

EDIT: Didnt realize my comments were getting deleted bc of low karma, but thanks for everyone who replied! Currently looking into vaccine clinics in my area, and thinking of switching back to his dry food at least for now bc it's a better brand and might be more nutritious. And since we've gotten him he has not been given any flea and tick treatment but as far I know he's been getting the regularly when he was with my cousin. He is also an outdoor cat and I know he does not like being inside much, but once we get his shots I will be taking him on walks and on my balcony! Thanks again!
