Diarrhea and vomiting, vet says he’s fine
Struggling so much with this big guy. Dail (6 months old) started showing some stress when we adopted another kitten. Wouldn’t eat, threw up a few times, took him to the vet and they gave us some fluids and anti nausea pills. Stated it was stress from the new kitten and that he was also teething.
He’s been eating again, but the diarrhea has been explosive and constant. Biological warfare is being raged against the household via his asshole. It’s the consistency of soup, he goes everywhere, no regard for life or limb. It’s gotten on the walls, our clothes, the carpet, his cat tree…
Took a fecal to the vet, they said other than the diarrhea he’s completely fine. No worms or parasites.
And now he’s vomiting after every meal, and usually eats whatever comes up before I can grab something to clean it.
We’ve changed his litter, that seemed to help for a day, but then he went back to completely ignoring the litterbox. We have 2, one for each cat, and I scoop them clean every day. We tried a litter attractant, changing the location of the litter boxes, taking the tops off so they were open. Nothing is changing the constant stream of liquid shit.
His diet hasn’t changed since we got him. He lost his voice a week ago and now sounds like a chain smoking duck. I’m so worried for him and I don’t know what to do.
The vet says he’s completely fine. Do I take him to another vet? Finances are tight at the moment, and getting to this point (an initial wellness check, then a recheck, then a fecal, then another wellness check) has already stretched my partner and I a bit thin in that regard. I’m at my wits end. This has been going on for almost 4 weeks now. The constant diarrhea can’t be healthy.
