Dr Gilete Spain
Has anyone had experience with his practice or visited him for consultations or surgery?
Finally saw a PT who understood what cervical instability is and could do many screening tests for it.
According to him I have cervical medullary syndrome with the beginning of probable myelopathy from the very top of my spine [nearly global hyperreflexia with poor reflexes in some areas], and my brainstem is becoming inflamed regularly. Left alar and transverse ligaments are involved. Some cranial nerve involvement. Basically slowly losing function in all of my limbs, among other awful CCI things.
Given the serious nature of my condition I've been told I'm past the point of benefitting from many conservative treatments, and, dreadfully, may have to consider fusion surgery if I want to stay alive for an extended period of time. Unfortunately, he had few or no recommendations for conservative management, and was not enthusiastic about curve correction exercises.
I was told to consult Dr. Gilete's office in Spain due to the risks with travelling outside of getting surgery done. Has anyone been a patient of his clinic and have any ideas about the standard and thoroughness of care offered? Has anyone had surgery at his office?
