Hair stylists for curly hair?

I'm moving to CT soon and I'm looking for a hair stylist or barber that can help me out and maybe start from scratch. I don't know how much haircuts cost over there, but for reference I currently pay around $25-35 for a haircut every two weeks. If possible, I'd like to stay somewhat in this range.

I'm also latino and queer so barbers tend to make me a bit nervous. If anyone knows of any friendly and welcoming places, please let me know!
