Sunlit Man Questions

I became a Sanderson fan a few years ago, starting with Elantris, then Warbreaker and then onto Mistborn. I've now read most of the secret projects. The only Cosmere I haven't read is Stormlight Archive. I've heard Wind and Truth is going to be a good bookend so to speak so was waiting to tackle those 5 books at once.
Now, here's the question, in starting The Sunlit Man (on Chapter 11) I started wondering where Nomad came from. Did a quick search and saw his first appearance was in The Way of Kings, didn't read more to avoid spoiling the book. Does Nomad play a big role in Stormlight? Is reading Sunlit Man before Stormlight going to spoil anything major? If so, I'll put this back on the shelf and read it after Stormlight. Thanks!
