Wearing a Canadian flag lapel pin asking for confrontation?

I don’t want this to be a US vs Canada discussion. I want to politely show that I’m Canadian without risking a “challenge”. Given the current temperature of Canadian sovereignty I want to show that I’m Canadian in the same respectful manner that another person would wear their country’s flag lapel pin.

And yes I will be cruising on an upcoming trip to predominantly US ports and, BTW, I’m cruising with American friends.

I don’t want to advertise an “F-U” stance. Merely show pride in my country while I socialize with friendly folk from other countries.

Thoughts?
