I kinda miss the normal gear restriction…
I’m genuinely not one to complain much about this game, always had the perspective this is EA so don’t get comfortable with anything. But when leveling up a new cleric in normals, I shouldn’t have to automatically lose this raid because, well… I rolled the lobby dice poorly.
This barb has 50 strength, and 222HP without buffs. On top of that, he was running Achilles and life steal. What the screenshot does not show is the 10-14 francisca axes he has, making it damn near impossible for my cleric to get away (oh and he has crush so don’t bother with closing doors).
I don’t know what the solution is here, but this type of Timmy stomping has to got to change somehow. Personally, I quite liked the gear score in normals, it helped make normal and HR feel like two distinctly different experiences.
Maybe it’s previous iteration wasn’t the best, perhaps an overall “gear score” can factor all parts of your kit into which lobby you go into. Rings, neck and cape add to this score, and higher rarity items also add to this score. I’m no dev, but these full purple “chads” running around in normals definitely will not help the game grow.
