international shipping help?

so i have a buyer wanting an item shipped to the uk, i've priced it etc. but when they buy, is the shipping price automatically put into my paypal balance, if the buyer is paying for the shipping? or how does that work. this would be my first time shipping internationally & i just want to be 100% sure before i make the sale.
