(need advice) Creating an innocence to rationalise the idea of 'Christmas' for the world of DE
I know I'm having this idea NOWHERE near Christmas. I'm just trying to create some silly reason why DE could have their own version of Christmas, because I feel sad if DE doesn't.
Unless someone knows the other innocences not listed on the DE wiki, I'm going to go add some history for this silly idea.
Please correct me on the idea since I'm only kinda well-informed on the concept of innocences and the isolas and have only researched it today. So if you catch me misusing ideas or locations, then please tell me.
Rough idea:
There could be an innocence of medical practices, who came up with the rudimentary theory for disease, aided in diminishing an ongoing plague and made herbal medicine readily available to the public... but also brought about the DE's version of Christmas.
The innocence's rudimentary theory of disease is that there's 'something' causing the disease and it could be spread through contact between people or objects. I imagine the innocence describing this 'something' similarly to the 4 humours or the miasma theory. This lead to the innocence enforcing quarantining and SOME sanitisation, which successfully reduced the plague.
The leader of the kingdom of Suresne survives the plague due to the innocence's practices and so creates a celebration in which people feast and give presents to sick people to wish them well and good luck.
Over time, this celebration turned into gifting presents to anyone to wish them good health. Perhaps people gave specific gifts to those with specific sicknesses. People would decorate their houses to 'ward off' illness.
Sadly, the celebration precedes the innocence's medical contributions, and the innocence slowly transforms into a caricature for DE Christmas (their version of Santa Claus). The innocence known for this holiday more than for their advancements in healthcare.
Maybe they are before Franconegro, so 1000-ish years ago? Though the wiki did say his era had terrible water quality.
I know DE doesn't need Christmas but it was fun thinking this up.
