Daima vs GT

So I’ve decided to rewatch gt to compare it to daima. And so far comparing the 6 episodes I’ve watched so far to the first 6 of daima, I think gt is far better than people are giving it credit for when compared to daima.

The animation isn’t even bad considering it’s a show from the 90s. It’s actually above average for the time and I would argue it’s better than most animations of the following over 10+ years. The jokes actually land and aren’t lowbrow potty humor and the episode pacing is better than daima’s. They capture the adventure aspect as well pretty decently and goku isn’t being treated like he’s mentally handicapped by the show writers.

And as for the most important thing I must point out about my rewatch, in just 6 episodes I have definitive proof that daima is literally just gt’s black star dragon ball arc. Go ahead and watch the first 6 episodes and tell me you don’t see the similarities.

Goku turned into a kid, pan/pansy, trunks/glorio, the first place they go to goku eats some food and their ship gets stolen over night, later on Goku and crew go to an island/planet of giants were everything is super big and the crew are only the size of bugs.

Seriously folks I highly recommend rewatching gt. It’s not the best dragon ball content around by a country mile but it’s definitely worth it if only to fairly compare it with daima.
