Edinburgh Theatre Goers...

Would you prefer a gift voucher to the Playhouse or the Festival Theatre? Which one has more/better shows?

I'm in the process of brainstorming a birthday gift for a friend and I've landed on gift vouchers to a theatre, as he's an avid theatre goer. As of right now, I'm stuck between the two mentioned theatres because they are managed by two different companies with their own gift vouchers, unless there's some 3rd party voucher that covers both that I'm not aware of? I know completely nothing about theatre and honestly don't know what I'm doing. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks!
