FEMA Reservist worth it for extra cash?
I work for a government-adjacent contractor. They are very supportive of military and reservist leave etc. And usually pay salary for leave minus what's earned on deployment. I'm sure this would be similar for how they treat FEMA Reserve.
I do have a background in disaster operations and was curious if financially being a reservist makes sense for someone currently making around 150k salary. I see mixed reviews on some people being deployed for 6 to 8 months a year which at that point seems to indicate it's more of a primary job than reserve support.
