Shoes going missing at Rockefeller

A few months ago I left my shoes (Metcon 8s) under one of the benches while taking a shower, and when I came back they were gone. I raised it with the front desk a couple times but they never showed up. I decided to write this off as a life lesson and ordered new shoes (Metcon 9s), and didn't think much else of it. Anyway, today a dude at the gym asked about my new shoes and mentioned that his pair of Metcon 9s had gone missing recently as well. Interested if anyone else has had a similar experience, and just a reminder to lock everything up when you go to shower.

EDIT: Since apparently many people can't read (or choose not to), this post was made as a warning that this is happening and a recommendation to lock everything up. You don't need to yell at me 97 times to put shoes in the locker, that's literally what I'm suggesting people do. I understand that schadenfreude is a very powerful emotion though, so I don't expect much here.

For those of you calling me a naive rube: I apologise for assuming that my fellow Equinox members (i.e. you lot) were slightly better than common thieves. Don't worry, I won't be making that mistake again.

And finally, for those who are triggered by the very common practice of leaving shoes under the benches for a few minutes -- what can I say except I'm sorry? I didn't fully appreciate the psychological damage that seeing someone else's pair of shoes in your field of vision for a few seconds could have on a person. I'm listening, I'm learning, I'm committed to doing better, and I wish you all the best on the long journey of recovery ahead.
