DMV License renewal

I work for a very very wealthy man who has not been to the DMV in over 15 years. Renewed lincese during pandemic but now it is requiring him to go in for vision test. How do I avoid this, we are in CA and the system is a mess. Frankly I could pay for them to open early if this was an option. Open to suggestions, or experience.
