Just some hypothetical Fallout: New Orleans art and lore I’d like some feedback on
Had some images made and some lore written and now I just want some feedback from fellow fans about what they think about what they’re seeing and reading.
The images:
Image 1, The Vault Entente: After decades of uneasy peace the three vaults of the area have merged into a triple alliance for mutual security after the former residents of vault 71 (the French) were forced out of the ruins of New Orleans by a Voodoo cult. When the French moved into New Orleans they chose to use the old riot gear they found as armor while decorating it with old French patterns and symbols relating to their heritage. The vault 72 dwellers fill scientific and engineering roles given a high intellectual culture (relating to their experiment). And the vault 73 dwellers make up the bulk of their military and wear riot gear and value efficiency above human connection (also relating to their experiment). Currently the faction is focused on reclaiming New Orleans, though they don’t agree on what’s to be done with it if they succeed…
Image 2, The Louisiana Economic Union: Even before the war the northern communities of Louisiana were often overlooked in favor of the jewel of the American south that was New Orleans. In the end though this saved most of them from being a target the day the bombs fell, with the exception of Fort Polk whose bomb was fired off the coast with the intention of wiping out the American fleet in the Gulf of Mexico as well as the base. While the ships were destroyed Fort Polk survived partially intact, and now the descendants of the military remnants serving to stabilize the region just enough to allow these communities to form into a union based around mutual prosperity in face of the wasteland and to rival the French in New Orleans. After the city was taken, however, the leaders of the Union saw an opportunity to transform their tiny Union into a wasteland superpower by taking the city back and making it a proper capital. Though other forces might be at play with their ambition of taking New Orleans…
Image 3, The Ghosts Of The Old World In a world where formal education and research has gone extinct, people begin to turn to the supernatural as a way of explaining the mysteries of the world. One main way is through Voodoo practice which has become the majority religion of southern Louisiana in the post war. One sect in particular known as the “ghosts of the old world” believe ghouls to be chosen by Baron Samedi to lead the new world as immortal emissaries to the living from the dead. The group was initially peaceful but after their home was washed over by the French when they reactivated the old world water levees to redirect the flow of the Mississippi River back through New Orleans they accidentally destroyed their home. The ghosts took a stance of an eye for an eye, and with the help of several other cults and allied groups attacked New Orleans and ultimately overwhelmed the city and took it for themselves…
Any thoughts and suggestions I would greatly appreciate and I give full credit to the artist who helped make these pieces-
