Purple Pocketcat in Funger 1?

I've just entered dream-world(?) Rondon through the tower bed, and saw a child gettin dragged off by Pocketcreep in this crusty dusty basement. I turned up the brightness on the screenshot and...yeah, nope, that's his original/main design from Miro's earlier works and Termina. So lorewise, what do we think is up with the wooden mask? If anything, it seems like the creepy purple face/mask is probably his usual look considering the books in both games, and now this... Thoughts?
