How do you protect yourself?

Hi! Recently moved to Kivisto, and ~1 month ago when i looked Kivisto up it had no "bad news" around. And now i am curious about - how to protect yourself in such scenarios? E.g. in some countries it's allowed to carry pepper spray, but as far as i remember in Finland it's not allowed.

And in general, i would like to know people opinions about Kivisto, since so far i heard only positive things.

Also curious on "how to google crime news in Finnish" since my Finnish level is zero (but i am working on it).
