China Eastern Airlines Check in not working

I am going to fly from Germany to Japan through Shanghai and all with China Esstern Airlines. Unfortunately, I am not able to Check in online. I have seen in the thread that many people experienced this in the past. Is this still a thing? Shall I just go to the airport and Check in physically?
