How does 12.7x55 compare to other “thumper” rounds (ie: 458 SOCOM)?
Hello everyone. The 12.7x55 round that the Russians have made has been a round I have been interested in for a while. It’s essentially following the same American concept of a thumper round, a large heavy round for stopping power, like 458 SOCOM. There have been numerous rounds like this and the 12.7 seems to be the most extreme. As per all the sources I can find, it was developed after other rounds were deemed insufficient for taking down drugged up, beefed up, armored terrorists. There have been other posts talking about this round, but I’d specifically like to ask how it compares to these other rounds, and just a general opinion on the round. Cheers.
