Disappointing experience with Lily2

Previously I used a Fitbit. I was primarily using it to track my sleep and steps, as well as "intensity" minutes per week. My fitbit died on me a few months ago, and I decided to buy a Garmin watch since Apple watches have such terrible battery life. And well, let me tell you that it was a mistake. I chose Lily 2 classic, because honestly the watch looks great, it seems to have more features than I need, and 3-5 days battery life doesn't seem too bad, plus I thought Garmin makes excellent fitness watches. But I am using it for two days so far and it's such a disappointing experience:

  • it doesn't track my sleep, like at all. I am a breastfeeding mom, and wake up every 4-6 hours at night, idk if that's why it cannot track any sleep, but two nights in a row now it didn't track anything at all.

  • even HR tracking is janky, for a portion of the night, about 4 hours, it didn't track anything.

  • cannot turn off the sleep mode; this is just weird, I want to be able to see what time it is when I wake up to breastfeed without having to tap on the watch, but I cannot disable the sleep mode completely, I will try to set it to just one minute, but I am not happy that I have to do workarounds for something that could've been a toggle.

  • touchscreen is not always responsive; sometimes, tapping on the watch doesn't wake it up. sometimes the gesture also doesn't work.

Now for things that are less critical, but would have been nice to have:

  • a button, to set some shortcuts.

  • overall, the watch has terrible UX, e.g settings for changing the watch face is sandwiched between menu item to start an activity and open the clock/set alarm, etc. Surely, one will need to set an alarm much more frequently than change the watchface, but to get to the clock you need to swipe past the watchface menu every time.

  • the mobile app also has just absolutely terrible UX. E.g. you cannot zoom in into any of the plots

For that price I imagined I will be getting a premium product, superior to my old Fitbit, but Garmin Lily 2 is all around disappointing...
