improvements over v2.06

Dear Garmin dev... Could you please...

  1. remove the irritating and useless "satellite lost" message (it is just blocking the app UI all the time); replace with an indicator in the status info
  2. start/stop track logging should be easier to reach
  3. manually disable Bluetooth (without having to enter Stealth mode)
  4. display the current time in the status info
  5. include a light indicator in the status info so that it is apparent that the display is lit while in sunlight (therefore gobbling energy for nothing). The indicator should show OFF/NVG/LOW/HIGH.
  6. be able to reset the odometer (duh!)
  7. introduce Profiles so that different combinations of settings for the trip computer page can be programmed
  8. track panning should be continuous while holding the up/down button; in several places, scrolling around dropdown lists is not implemented
  9. allow a negative view mode (white on black, as in Expedition mode) as an alternative NVG mode?

Bugs:

  1. cannot delete waypoints from locally created routes
  2. time zone "automatic" is bugged. when I switch between UTC and automatic, the time is no longer correct
  3. north ref mode "user" is not remembered; also, the E/W value cannot be changed

I'm getting rather disappointed .

Questions:

  1. How does auto zoom work? What happens when the user manually changes the scale?
  2. how does automatic time zone work?
  3. how do the north references work?
    1. Mag probably uses some calculated value?
    2. Grid does not allow to change the offset
