I don’t agree when people saying that Luke breaking up with Lorelai in Season 5 means he wasn’t all in

I think Luke meant that and was sincere about it when he said he was all in. He is committed to the relationship. He has just gone through an unpleasant evening and found out that Emily tried to break up their relationship. I think all the things Chris said about Lorelai and him triggered some insecurities. Lorelai also told him about the night she was with Chris comforting him as she naturally doesn’t want him to find out about it from Chris before her. It is a lot to process. I feel bad for Lorelai as a lot of what happened was out of her control and she wants to fix things and make things better however Luke is someone who needs time to process things. Thus with all these feelings inside him and then talking when he didn’t want to talk or he wasn’t ready to talk we get the break up. It isn’t surprising to me they get back together quickly as neither truly wanted to break up. I feel bad for both Lorelai and Luke in this case and this is a break up and conflict I find believable and well written.
