Fingersave Gloves

I have a confession to make. I use fingersave gloves and I am in my early/mid twenties. Throughout my life I have had periods of time using normal gloves but I always go back to fingersave. I know it is probably blasphemous, and I do feel quite embarrassed, but I use fingersave. I only know that Van der Sar wore fingersave in terms of professionals, which is only one, but a very good one at least.

If it is of interest I found that although I could catch the ball marginally better without fingersave, those catches I would not attempt in a match (I would rather parry away or parry and let bounce then gather if it was hit straight at me) due to them being at a quite risky and hard level. Though in training obviously I would go for the catch.

I prefer fingersave, generally because of fingertip saves. I feel, even the pros, when you watch some goals in slo mo, the ball absolutely smashes through their fingers, which is mitigated by fingersave and may provide just enough rigidness for the ball to reflect away from the goal. If it is smashing through their fingers, who definately have better wrist and finger strength than me (a fingersave user for whole life basically), then i presume it will easily go through mine (hence I use fingersave).

If it is of interest, I played academy football as a teenager, not good enough to make it and now play non league football abroad (outside UK, long story) at a decent standard, nothing special.

I guess I am just making this post as a confession/ discussion. What do you guys think of this? Is it okay? Am I crazy?
