Clarification from Clymer Manual
I'm swapping the cams in my 06 road king and going through the Clymer manual to familiarize myself with all the correct procedures. In the section "Rear Camshaft Sprocket and Crankshaft Drive Sprocket Alignment" there's two steps that I don't understand, 7 and 8. Here's what they say:
- If the engine was not removed from the engine, install the compensating sprocket to pull the crankshaft to the left side.
- Press the crankshaft and rear Camshaft into the crankcase to eliminate any end play
7 must be a typo as I don't know what it means to remove the engine from the engine lol. But what is this about pulling the crankshaft to the left side?
8 is also confusing me because I don't know how I'm going to "press" the crankshaft and camshaft. Do they mean pressing with my bare hands? Or with a press?
Any clarification would be helpful, thanks
