Why is insurance covering my appointments when I haven't hit my deductible?

EDIT: I am not asking about copays contributing to the deductible. Forget that.

I am asking why my insurance is covering everything before I've paid anything towards the deductible.

Just curious more than anything...

My family's annual deductible is $9,000 and I'm reviewing my EOBs from this year and on every single one my insurance is covering everything except the the $25/$50 copays. The EOBs also state I've met $0 of the family's $9,000 deductible. So it's conflicting info?

My daughter broke her leg and everything was covered. My son went to the ER for the flu and it was covered. My minor surgery was covered.

What's going on?
