No sample pickup sound if i'm host but i have sound if i'm not the host

As the title says, for whatever reason i don't have any sample pickup sounds if i'm the host/ playing solo.
But if someone else hosts the session then i for whatever reason *do* have sample sounds.
Is this a well known issue and i have just managed to miss out on everyone saying or is this a me thing.
Is there a way to fix this or is it just a case of waiting for patches? Help or just info on if it's just me would be appreciated :)
