ASUS BE3000 ZenWifi and Fiber internet (Brightspeed) - Question.
Hello, all!
I currently have Spectrum in my area and it’s coax cable internet at 1GB down and like 38MB up.
I’m switching to Brightspeed and my install is scheduled for tomorrow (3/6). I’m going with the 2GB up/down package.
I’m a bit nervous as this is my first time having Fiber - I’ve had Spectrum/Charter my whole life. But it seems they’re never gonna offer “true” Fiber in my area (sure are taking their time…)…so I decided to switch.
I’ve got the Asus BE3000 3-node mesh WiFi system and love it. I don’t want to move away from it to Brightspeeds WiFi system. However, I’m getting a bit cold-footed for my install visit tomorrow, lol.
Having an ONT box and an all-in-one Gigaspire (or whatever their “combo” modem/router is?) confuses me. All I want to do is have my Asus mesh system set up with the new internet/ONT box.
How does this work and are there any setting changes I need to make within the router, going from cable internet to Fiber? Or will the router auto-detect and change accordingly?
I don’t know if I plug the Ethernet from the ONT box directly into my Main router node for the Asus or if I need to connect this router node to the “box” they place in that room.
Any advanced help or tips would be super appreciated!
