2025 Palisade vs 2026 redesign hybrid
I am in the process of buying new and have narrowed the decision down to the current v6 2025 Palisade Calligraphy or waiting for the 4 cylinder turbo 2026 hybrid. I was so happy to finally decided on the Palisade over the Toyota Grand Highlander and Mazda cx90 but now I am confused on which year to choose from. I love the new tech and interior redesign for the coming 2026 model but not the biggest fan of the new exterior. I have 2 overall concerns that I feel will determine my final selection.
Engine size, fuel consumption, reliability. How much is the 2025 v6 going to cost me at the pump over the next 6/7 years compared to the 2026 4 cylinder hybrid? I am not hauling boats etc so do I really need the v6? I like the AWD for Canadian winter driving but at what cost? I have a Sonata with turbo and after year 7 the turbo started to give me problems. Hence my concern.
The first edition of any redesign as big as this comes with problems. Is it worth buying the first gen and deal with the 2026 problems/recals and potential problems down the road with a turbo engine. I test drove the 2025 SantaFe after taking the 2025 Palisade and I swear it felt like the Santa Fe was powered by a lawnmower engine. The size and weight of the redesigned Palisade will be even more cause for concern.
I really like the 2025 Palisade design and interior but is the v6 engine going to guzzle gas. The 2026 redesign has its concerns? What do I need to consider moving forward?..
