When Do Passholders Get Friends & Family Discounts?

Hi, I'm thinking of buying an Ikon Basic pass for the first time when they get released in a few days and have two questions.

(1) Would I get the Friends and Family discounts the day I buy the pass?

(2) If we're able to get the Friends and Family discounts this season, would we be able to use them immediately for lift ticket discounts this season?
