Borkquist/C-71: What is the significance of the upcoming court date?

Hello, I’m just learning I maybe eligible to claim emergency citizenship as a second generation Canadian born abroad.

My question is, is it too late? My understanding is there is a big court date coming up. Should I be racing to meet that deadline? Or am I already too late? I keep reading posts that the C-71 bill is dead so I don’t know what happens with this upcoming court action and would be grateful if someone could explain it’s significance to second generation citizenship applications. Thanks
