What do you think?
It's time that we start seeing Aadujeevitham for what it is. An average attempt of a great novel. Technically brilliant. But emotionally did nothing to me.
Not even at one point i felt the connection between the main character and the goats (which is the crux of the novel). And idk why the director decided to omit the controversial sex scene but it was for me the most intense moment in the novel where a man losing all his hopes, dignity and acceps his fate. The director did not for one moment try to take us into the protagonist's mindset. He just took aadujeevitham and made it into a survival thriller. No commentary about his loneliness, bond with his wife (the song portion was so cringe), everything just felt so superficial. If you take another survival movie like 127 hours you can clearly see how many layers that movie has.
PS: Idk if I'm crazy, but Rajuvettans acting felt soo bad and forced. It felt like he was putting so much effort to become this character. His grunting and "geheh" and slow body language and the scene where he sees his friend after years felt so artificial and flat. Aadujeevitham is a movie that we lost to mediocre storytelling but rescued by great technical side and media promotion.
