I am scared for my future

Hi! I've been preparing to get into a college in U.S. for a long time. I did extracurriculars, studied for SAT (which I do 1500+ on mock tests) wrote lots of essays and did all the paperwork. I did everything I could to get into a good university. But after the election I don't feel so safe about going to US as an international student anymore. Should I actually get worried about actually getting deported or worse even though I come there legally? Should I even give it a shot in the first place? I'm really anxious about this and would like to hear your opinion.

(Edit: I just saw the illegal immigrant deportation ASMR video and if one more person defends this I'll lose it.)
