Why do Israelis ask me to take pictures of them with my camera?
I was out for Purim with my DSLR camera and had someone come up to me saying what I thought was “Tuna” and had no idea what that meant till another guy said it and I decided to translate “picture” and realized they were saying תְמוּנָה and just wanted me to take a picture of them
At least 10 people came up to me asking for pics and then asking for my Instagram / WhatsApp so I can send it to them. It was actually fun and I got talking to a couple people / took pictures with them too. I love how much people wanted pictures with their friends
This was a culture shock though since I’ve traveled all around the world and no one has ever asked me to take a pic of them. Eventually I had to start saying no to people because so many kept coming up to me. Where does this come from culturally?
