Revisiting "Chromatica" - List your opinion of the album through Song by Song

Alice - Not one of my faves but I do admire the more experimental sound and the catchy chorus. I wish Gaga had released this as a 3rd single over "911".

Stupid Love - I always liked "Stupid Love", even though the music video is kinda cringy to watch with the questionable costumes though I do love Gaga's mug in the video. The song, I enjoy it a lot and people often forget this was a Top 5 hit.

Rain On Me - Another fun, ear worm of a Pop song and Gaga and Ariana Grande's voices complement well. I also liked the neo sci-fi look of the video.

Free Woman - It's a good pop song but I much prefer the demo version over the official album version. The instrumental doesn't work as well with "Free Woman"! but it's still a solid track. The cover remix with Rina Sawayama is dynamite.

Fun Tonight - This is one song I didn't like back in 2021 when it first came out. I thought it was pretty basic but now I enjoy the song. It grew on me and it actually sounds quite current. Maybe I'll feel the same way about "Don't Call Tonight" in a few years.

911 - I don't like the song, the music video is so pretentious. The LG product placement at the end made me roll my eyes. I know this song is loved by many but I don't like it. Gaga should have released "Alice" or "Plastic Doll" as the 3rd single instead.

Plastic Doll - My favorite track in the album. Insanely catchy, I love the production, Gaga sounds amazing in it and it's one of those Pop songs which you never tired of listening to. Listening to "Perfect Celebrity" made me gasp. The reference to "Plastic Doll".

Sour Candy - The biggest let-down for me, even though it's still an okay song. A Gaga and Blackpink collab should have been a banger but instead it's pretty anti-climactic. Gaga sounds like Charli XCX in this track.

Enigma - Another one of my faves in Chromatica, I love how operatic it sounds, especially in the chorus where Gaga lets it rip. I could see Gaga being the Alien Diva from **The Fifth Element" perform a song like this.

Replay - Meh. The "Fashion" in "Chromatica". Pass.

Sine from Above - This song does not suit Gaga at all. It's reminiscent of those godawful electro dance songs Elton John sang in the 90s. Now, he's roped Gaga in and it's just a mess. I don't get how Gaga passed on releasing "The Greatest" with Cher because it wasn't good enough but said yes to this. A Elton and Gaga duet should have been to a song like "Speechless".

1000 Doves - A beautiful, calming dance ballad which Gaga performs beautifully. But the Piano demo is even better. That version is Top Diva Gaga.

Babylon - What "Replay" should have been. The perfect gay anthem in "Chromatica". You could walk the catwalk with this song and feel fabulous. A top notch pop song. A perfect companion for "Black Jesus".

Love Me Right - This is my 2nd favorite track from Chromatica" and the best extra Gaga track. It sounds like an 80s Pop ballad, Madonna Crazy for You era, and it's so good. I wish the song had been part of the official album release. This should have been in Chromatica over Replay, at the very least. Maybe because it sounds so different from the rest, but honestly, I don't care. This is one of my favorite Gaga ballads.
