MachE over Tesla Model Y
I recently went shopping for an EV for my wife. Test drove the MachE, Kia EV6, and the Tesla Model Y.
The machE Premium was actually quite great. Felt well planted on the road with nice quality feel to it.
The Tesla MY was undoubtedly faster. The infotainment is definitely better. But the car feels cheap, tin can feeling, cheap feeling materials. Noisier on the road.
However the big deal I have with the MachE is the price. A Tesla AWD LR is now like 49k. The comparable MachE Premium was like 61k at my local dealer. It’s so much more that I can hardly see how it makes sense.
I have some questions:
- How much are people actually paying for the machE?
- Have you switched from Tesla to Ford? Why?
- Did you cross shop the ModelY? Why did you go with the ford?
