My Miele fridge is a total POS
We did a full kitchen reno that was completed in March 2023. Went with all Miele appliances and boy do I regret it. The MasterCool column fridge that cost me somewhere around $8K is a total piece of garbage. Last August it started making a loud noise and then the fan stopped working. The fan was frozen over and no longer working, so the bottom drawer was 60 degrees. Had the repair person come and he told us it was our fault b/c we had "too much stuff" on the top shelf of the fridge and it was blocking the circulation. He thawed the thing out and did his thing. Two months later the same thing happens. He shows up and again tries to tell us it's user error. Dude, I have three fridges in my house and I've been using fridges my whole life and never had this problem. Anyway we tell him we are not accepting that the fridge is freezing up b/c it's too full. He gets on the phone with someone who tells him that the Miele engineers just figured out that the problem is that the fridge can't be set below 39 (again, the implication is that it is our fault for having it set too low). Fine, he thaws it out, does his repairs, sets it at 39, and leaves. A month later the fan starts making a noise, so I know it is freezing up again. I turn the fridge to 40 to see if that will help. Nope, within two weeks the fan sounds like a jet engine and then the finally fully freezes and stops working (lovely silence but a warm fridge). Repair guy just got here for the third time since August and what's the first thing he says? "The humidity control (for the fruit and veggie drawer) should be set the other way." Seriously? You are going to come to my house for a third time and try to convince me that this is MY FAULT? I am so irate I don't know what to do. Apparently on the 4th service call for the same problem we can get a new fridge, but not sure I even want one at this point...but I am probably stuck as I have the column freezer and the "joining" piece connecting them. I am so upset. Any advice? On top of this I hate the cooktop as the other burners' starters click non-stop when I light one burner (he also said this was our fault FYI.)
