Help a beginner with miniature Painting advice!
Hello Reddit,
Hope somebody with a good heart respond to this thread with a lot experience in painting.
To give you some context
I am a tabletop games guy, I am looking to paint myself the minis that comes in my games.
I have never painted anything i dont even consider myself a "artist" I would rate myself as a complete bad painter, when it comes to chosing colors, paint strokes, layering, light, even handling properly the brush, I know nothing!
a complete rookie.
Now I decided that I would like to have my minis painted. but I dont want to go completely into this hobby at least for now.
I had been checking Youtube about Miniatures painting and studying a bit. and I would like some of you guys give me beginner advice for somebody who for now just want to paint his minis without going deep into this hobby (again, for now)
My big questions is what paint techniques would be a good fit by what I decribed above? I saw about, slapchop technique, layering, glozing, priming (Zenithal priming) and a lot of things that just confuse me even more.
As well which paints would be easy for me for painting? I saw about contrast or speedpaint on which sounds pretty easy and fast for the kind of guy that just want to paint his minis and dont spend hours in one single mini.
Also I want them to look good, with shadows, good colors, everything that make the mini really pop! just looking for something that would balance my situation >> something good looking without spending to much painting or learning/practice.... for now.
Hope a good samaritan really understands me and give me a really good advice. on which technique should I use as well the type of paint
