Travelling with a monitor

I need to travel overseas with a 34 inch monitor, weight limit is 14 kg for carry on but I'm unsure as to how I could ensure nothing goes wrong. Monitor will go through a total of about 17 hours of flight time. Flight is on qatar airways if that helps.
