Universal Transgender Legal Gender Protection Act - California Legislative Proposal

Hi everyone, I have been in contact with the California Legislative LGBTQ Caucus to help safeguard our right to choose our legal gender under Trump regardless of where you were born or live now! ❤️

I have wrote a bill I call the Universal Transgender Legal Gender Protection Act, which if enacted would do the following: Allow those born in any US state or territory to get a California Birth Certificate with their corrected name and gender, and allow any trans person in the United States to get confidential name and gender change court orders remotely through the California Courts, regardless of where you live or were born.

The bill is specially designed around the Real ID Act and Full Faith and Credit clause of the Constitution to force Trump and red states to recognize these. Getting a Passport, updating your transcripts, getting a job, enrolling in school, and more with our preferred legal names and genders is going to get even easier despite Trump being re-elected. This is the best designed stopgap against Project 2025 that I believe has been proposed for Trans Americans to date.
