Searching for a song pls help me!!!

It's a song I haven't heard in years. It started almost exactly like the first two seconds of ''When You Were Young'' by The Killers, but the rest of the song is nothing alike. The song is sung by a man, and the melody was sad and nostalgic.

I am not sure for the lyrics English is not my first language, but I think it started with: ''rolling up and whatever it's like, here to the end, here for the fight [...] you were my soldier.'' Also, all the song is in English.
